Tony Cries

4/25/24

Tony cries.
Tony tells himself condolences.
He has a stick of bells
and wags them off his lawn.
Tony has a sofa, stained
of oil and pretense.
He once had a man there.
Now he has open air.
Tony cries.
Tony tells himself another day.
He looks at the sun
and hopes it don’t burn.
Tony had a dream, between
the head and apothecary.
Tony cries.
Tony takes a measurement.
He makes a concoction
and dyes his eyes red.
Tony wants a reason,
yet there is only excuse.
Tody dies.
